Support Worker – University & Daily Living Support

About the role
We are seeking a reliable, personable and motivated Support Worker to assist an adult male university student living with a long-term physical disability.
Jamie is an intelligent, independent and highly motivated individual who is currently studying Law at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC). He is looking for someone who can provide practical support while encouraging and maintaining his independence.
Key responsibilities
· Driving Jamie to and from UniSC from Gimpie and other local activities/appointments.
· Providing practical support with daily routines and organisation.
· Light domestic assistance, including meal preparation and household tasks.
· Assisting with mobility and activities as required.
· Providing appropriate prompting and encouragement to help Jamie stay organised and on track.
· Supporting university-related routines and study where appropriate.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
· Reliable, patient, respectful and genuinely enjoys helping others.
· A confident and safe driver.
· Comfortable working with someone who has a physical disability.
· Organised and able to provide appropriate prompting without taking over.
· Could also be a Law student or someone with an interest in Law, who may also be able to provide some practical academic support and understand Jamie's university environment.
· Able to work independently and maintain professional boundaries.
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week, with potential for additional hours.
Location: Gympie / Sippy Downs / Sunshine Coast
Commencement: in 4 weeks / by agreement
