Blackstone Facility Management is seeking an experienced and motivated Handyman to join our growing maintenance team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled tradesperson or experienced all-rounder who enjoys variety in their work and takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance services across a diverse portfolio of commercial facilities.
No two days are the same. You'll be trusted to complete a wide range of maintenance tasks while representing Blackstone Facility Management with professionalism and a strong customer focus.
About the Role
Working across commercial facilities throughout the Perth metropolitan area, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring our clients' properties remain safe, functional and well presented.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day duties will include (but are not limited to):
- General building maintenance and repairs
- Basic plumbing including replacing taps, repairing leaking toilets, clearing blocked drains, replacing showerheads and minor pipework repairs
- Light electrical work including replacing light fittings, power outlets, switches and ceiling fans (where permitted and appropriately licensed)
- Carpentry and general repairs including door adjustments, cabinet repairs, shelving installation, furniture assembly and general timber work
- Wall repairs including patching plasterboard, repairing minor surface damage and completing paint touch-ups
- Installation of televisions, whiteboards, shelving, mirrors, artwork, blinds and other fixtures
- Pressure washing pathways, building exteriors and outdoor areas
- Gutter cleaning and minor roof maintenance
- Fence, gate and external property repairs
- Identifying maintenance issues and reporting larger defects requiring specialist trades
- Maintaining company equipment, vehicles and tools in a clean and professional condition
About You
We're looking for someone who is reliable, solutions-focused and enjoys working independently while also contributing to a supportive team environment.
To be successful, you will have:
- Previous experience in a handyman, maintenance or property maintenance role
- Broad knowledge across multiple trades
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship
- Confidence using a wide range of hand and power tools
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple jobs throughout the day
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude when dealing with clients
- Ability to identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems
- A current Australian Driver's Licence (essential)
- Relevant trade qualifications or licences are highly regarded but not essential
