Most agentic pilots stall because nobody built the workplace around the model. We’re looking for a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to embed with our clients, find where agents genuinely remove friction, and build the harness that makes those agents safe to run in production. You’ll own the path from the first discovery conversation to a system that holds up in front of real users, then carry what you learn back to J4RVIS so the next engagement starts further ahead.
About J4RVIS
J4RVIS brings humans and technology together - for businesses built on relationships. We’re a consulting business at our core, guiding enterprises through transformation by listening first, then building technology that makes people more capable, not redundant.
Since launching in 2020, we’ve grown to a team of 110+ people across Australia and the Philippines. We hold Salesforce Summit Partner status alongside partnerships with Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Snowflake, and AWS - spanning business systems, data and integration, conversational AI, and agentic automation. We’ve been recognised as a Deloitte Fast 50 “Rising Star”, CRN Fast 50, and Great Place to Work in both countries. But the awards describe where we’ve been, not where we’re going.
We go deep in the industries we serve: media, financial services, energy and utilities, because domain expertise is what makes the technology work. We measure success by three business outcomes: customer experience transformation, operational efficiency, and revenue generation. Not hours billed.
AI is central to what we do. We deploy Agentforce at scale, build conversational AI, and develop intelligent automation already running in production. Every team is augmented by AI, and every consultant is developing toward advisory, not just delivery.
We’re on a growth spurt to further scale with an APAC expansion underway and a strategy that’s locked in. If you want to be part of a firm that’s building something that endures, where the culture is real and the ambition is high then this is an exciting time to join.
We’re still early in our journey, and that’s what makes this an exciting time to join.
Why This Role Exists
J4RVIS is scaling its AI Division as demand for production-grade agentic systems accelerates across our client base. Too many organisations have run an AI pilot that never reached production, because the model was the easy part, and the governance, verification, and change management around it were never built. This role exists to close that gap: a deeply technical, consulting-led engineer who runs discovery, designs the agentic architecture, builds it hands-on, and drives the adoption that makes it stick. You’ll work alongside the AI Director and Principal AI Engineer, turning J4RVIS strategy into a working system in the client’s hands, on one of our core platforms: Salesforce Agentforce, AWS Bedrock, or Google Cloud Platform.
What You’ll Be Doing
-
Rn engagements end to end, from the first discovery conversation through to a production system, mapping the client’s workflow and data to find where an agent removes real friction and where it only adds risk.
-
Design and build the agentic architecture: orchestration, data hydration, and the semantic layer, then engineer the verification that makes it dependable (pre-flight checks, runtime guardrails, post-hoc audits, evals, and LLM-as-a-judge where it earns its place).
-
Embed governance and compliance from day one, using frameworks such as OWASP GenAI and the regulatory standards relevant to the client’s industry, and hold a release that doesn’t meet the verification bar.
-
Hold the client relationship across the engagement: manage expectations, demo progress, and tie every technical decision to a commercial outcome the executive can defend.
-
Partner with the AI Director and Principal AI Engineer, folding their architectural guidance into the practical solution being built with the client.
-
Harvest the playbook, the eval suite, and the reusable harness components at the end of each engagement, so the next one starts further ahead.
What We’re Looking For
Must-have:
-
Shipped real agentic systems to production and debugged them under real production pressure. Writes code you’d be happy to inherit.
-
Hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying AI agents on enterprise-grade platforms: Salesforce Agentforce, AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Platform, or comparable.
-
Real agentic experience, built with agentic loops and LLMs at a systems level, well beyond prompting. Understands orchestration, evals, and where non-determinism bites.
-
Consulting instinct: reads a room, manages a difficult stakeholder, scopes ambiguous work, and ties every technical decision back to business impact.
-
Strong production engineering in Python and TypeScript, with a working understanding of the Salesforce surface (Apex, LWC).
Nice-to-have:
-
Background in financial services or another regulated sector.
-
MLOps and infrastructure fluency: evals tooling, observability, and CI for agentic workflows.
-
Experience across more than one of Salesforce Agentforce, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
-
Relevant platform certifications (for example Salesforce Agentforce or AI, AWS, or Google Cloud).
