JOB DESCRIPTION

The Electrical Engineer will play a key role in the planning, design, analysis, testing, commissioning, and ongoing improvement of electrical infrastructure for renewable energy projects. Working closely with internal engineering teams, clients, suppliers, and contractors, the role contributes to ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable technical and regulatory standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
· Relevant qualification at the level of a Bachelor of Engineering degree or higher.
· Minimum 3 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in the renewable energy, power systems, electrical infrastructure, or related engineering sector
· Proficient in spoken and written English, suitable for technical documentation, report writing, and stakeholder communication.
· Planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
· Strong leadership and communication skills
· Self-starter with the focus on completion of the tasks on time.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Independently perform engineering tasks related to utility-scale and renewable energy system design, ensuring compliance with relevant technical standards and network requirements.
· Prepare and submit inverter energy system (IES) connection and grid access applications, including supporting technical documentation and calculations.
· Design, review, and validate grid-connected inverter energy systems to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant network integration.
· Develop Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) designs for both grid-connected and standalone power system (SPS) applications, including equipment selection and system configuration.
· Prepare earthing and lightning protection designs to ensure electrical safety, system reliability, and regulatory compliance.
· Conduct site inspections and surveys to assess project requirements, collect technical data, and support engineering design activities.
· Undertake on-site commissioning of electrical and renewable energy systems, including functional testing and performance verification.
· Configure, program, and perform injection testing of protective relays to verify protection settings and operational integrity.
· Manage engineering projects from planning through to completion, including scheduling, technical coordination, and progress monitoring.
· Liaise with clients, electricity network operators, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and facilitate project delivery.
· Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation required for project approvals and implementation.
· Ensure all engineering activities comply with workplace health and safety requirements, industry standards, and company procedures.
· Maintain a safe, organised, and professional work environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
· Provide technical support and recommendations during design reviews, installations, commissioning, and operational phases of projects.
· Perform additional engineering and project-related duties as directed by management.
