As a Senior Maritime Engineer in our Sydney office, you will design, delivery and inspect a wide range of coastal and maritime infrastructure projects with a particular focus on defence, naval and strategic port facilities. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients and provide technical solutions that support project success.
- Take a lead role in concept and detailed designs for maritime structures such as Naval facilities, wharves jetties, quay walls, dry docks, shipyard infrastructure, pile-supported structures, seawalls and waterfront developments.
- Act as a technical lead for defence and maritime infrastructure projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
- Prepare and review complex construction documentation, specifications and Bills of Quantities.
- Conduct structural inspections and provide technical advice during the design and construction phases.
- Manage multidisciplinary projects, coordinate design activities and contribute to client relationships and business development opportunities within the defence and maritime sectors.

As our new Senior Maritime Engineer, you will become part of our Water & Maritime team in Australia. The team delivers tailored engineering and scientific solutions across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific, specializing in maritime, coastal, riverine, and waterfront infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with highly skilled engineers and consultants on projects that support sustainable development and resilient communities.
You are a proactive and collaborative engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and working in multidisciplinary teams. You deliver high-quality work, communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, and are motivated to continue developing your expertise in maritime structural engineering.
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a specialization or strong background in maritime structures.
- You will be fully chartered or working towards your chartership.
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in the design and delivery of maritime infrastructure projects.
- Experience delivering defence, naval, port, shipyard or other mission-critical infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Experience with technical reporting, structural inspections, and construction support activities.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to travel locally, interstate, and internationally when required.
