## Web Designer
## Position Overview

## Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify project objectives, audience requirements, and design constraints before commencing work
- Conduct research and analyse functional communication requirements to inform design direction and ensure solutions are purposeful and user-focused
- Develop and present design concepts that effectively communicate the intended message across a range of digital formats and platforms
- Collaborate with clients, management, and production teams to negotiate and refine design solutions that balance creative ambition with practical delivery
- Plan, design, and develop websites and digital assets with a strong emphasis on user interface, ease of navigation, and visual hierarchy
- Detail and document selected designs for handoff, ensuring all specifications are clearly communicated to development and production staff
- Integrate text, imagery, animation, colour, layout, and data sources to create tailored digital content suited to specific audiences and purposes
- Supervise or directly carry out production across chosen media, maintaining quality and consistency throughout the delivery process
- Archive completed design assets and project documentation for future client use and internal reference
- Ensure all web designs meet accessibility standards, responsive design principles, and cross-browser compatibility requirements
- Stay current with emerging design trends, tools, and web technologies to continuously improve the quality and relevance of output
## Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Web Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in a web design role, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of digital projects
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) and Figma
- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design frameworks
- Knowledge of UX/UI principles, information architecture, and user-centred design methodologies
- Experience working with content management systems such as WordPress, Squarespace, or similar platforms
- Strong grasp of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices for cross-browser and cross-device compatibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present and justify design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines
- Collaborative mindset with experience working alongside developers, marketers, and other stakeholders
## Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with motion graphics, animation, or video production for web
- Familiarity with JavaScript or front-end frameworks such as React or Vue.js
- Knowledge of SEO principles and their application to web design and content structure
- Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify or Magento
- Relevant certifications in UX design, Google Analytics, or related digital disciplines
- Prior experience in an agency environment managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
