About the Role
As the Electrical Facilities Supervisor, you will take ownership of electrical systems maintenance, and asset management across the precinct, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of critical healthcare infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage electrical maintenance services in a healthcare environment
- Supervise electricians, maintenance technicians, and subcontractors
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance programs
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, electrical safety legislation, WHS requirements, and statutory regulations
- Monitor maintenance performance using CMMS system
- Oversee critical infrastructure including:
- Low Voltage (LV) electrical distribution systems
- Backup generators and emergency power systems
- Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
- Essential services systems and critical switchboards
- Lighting, power, and control systems
- AS/NZS3003 - Electrical installations in patient care areas
- Building Management Systems (BMS) interfaces
- Conduct audits, inspections, testing, and technical reporting
- Drive asset reliability, energy efficiency, performance optimisation, and continuous improvement
- Support electrical compliance, planned shutdowns, and critical infrastructure projects
About You
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualified Electrician with a current Electrical Licence
- Experience in facilities management, building maintenance, hospital engineering, or critical infrastructure environments
- Proven leadership of maintenance teams and subcontractors
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fault finding, and compliance requirements
- Experience with CMMS (QFM, Pronto, SAP or similar)
- Asset management systems (DALI, SCADA, Nexus)
- Understanding of WHS, risk management, permit-to-work systems, and safety leadership
- Ability to manage competing priorities within a critical operational environment
Desirable
- Queensland Electrical Contractor Licence (Nominee or Qualified Business Person)
- High Voltage Awareness, Switching or Authorised Person certification
- Experience with generators, UPS systems, and critical power infrastructure
- Experience in healthcare, hospitals, data centres, or other critical environments
- Dual trade qualifications (Electrical / Instrumentation / Refrigeration)
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
