We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Security Specialist to design, deploy, maintain, and support large-scale corporate network and security infrastructure across on-premises and Cloud environments.
he role will work closely with Network/Security/Application Architects, Business Stakeholders, Project Managers, Engineering, Operations teams, and technology vendors to deliver secure, resilient, and cost-effective network solutions.
The successful candidate will operate at a senior technical level, work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and provide Tier 3 technical support for complex network and security issues.
- Design and deploy corporate network and security solutions across on-premises and Cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical solution designs, architecture documents, and implementation documentation.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, Network/Security/Application Architects, and project teams to understand requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Prepare detailed configuration, system integration, and implementation/change plans.
- Conduct peer reviews and ensure changes are implemented with minimal risk and disruption.
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex network and security incidents.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Problem Incident Reviews (PIR).
- Troubleshoot and resolve high-impact technical issues across network and security platforms.
- Work with vendors to escalate issues, identify solutions, and implement fixes or workarounds.
- Conduct pre-upgrade testing, staging, and laboratory testing where required.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and change requests, including stakeholder engagement, approvals, and maintenance windows.
- Participate in after-hours network changes, typically commencing between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM, with activities lasting approximately 1–6 hours depending on complexity.
- Troubleshoot issues arising during upgrades and coordinate vendor support when required.
- Prepare operational handover documentation and ensure successful transition to Operations.
- Develop work instructions, provisioning guides, and other operational support materials.
- Provide technical feedback and recommendations to improve future network upgrades and operational processes.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and configuring enterprise network and security infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, and Data Centre networking.
- Expert-level experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
- Strong understanding of OSPF and BGP.
- Experience with NAT, DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM).
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN).
Strong experience with networking services across one or more of the major Cloud platforms:
- AWS: Direct Connect, VPC, Transit Gateway and related networking services.
- Microsoft Azure: ExpressRoute, vNet, Virtual WAN (vWAN), vHub and related services.
- Google Cloud: Partner Interconnect, VPC and related networking services.
Experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP is highly desirable.
- Strong experience with enterprise firewall technologies and security platforms.
- Preferred firewall experience:
- Fortinet
- Check Point
- Palo Alto, Cisco, or other major firewall platforms
- Experience in firewall policy design and implementation.
- Knowledge of IDS/IPS technologies.
- Experience with firewall policy management tools such as AlgoSec FireFlow or equivalent.
- Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as:
- Understanding of API integration and management.
- Experience with DDI (DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management) platforms.
- Experience with EfficientIP is highly desirable.
- Experience with Infoblox, BlueCat, or equivalent DDI solutions will also be considered.
- Knowledge of Cloud DNS services such as AWS Route 53 or equivalent.
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience in enterprise network design, engineering, and infrastructure.
- Vendor certifications in DDI and Security technologies are highly regarded.
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud networking/security certifications are desirable.
- CISSP or other recognised Cybersecurity certifications are advantageous.
- Certifications in Fortinet, Check Point, EfficientIP, Infoblox, or related technologies are highly desirable.
- Physical and virtual server configuration.
- Network packet capture and troubleshooting tools.
- Network monitoring and operational resilience platforms.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Microsoft Visio and MS Project.
- Atlassian Confluence.
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills.
