Position Brief - Senior Arts Officer
About the role
The Senior Arts Officer supports the delivery of the City's arts grant program, ensuring effective grant administration, transparent assessment processes, and strong investment outcomes for the creative sector. The role administers arts funding from application through to assessment, contracting, acquittal, reporting and evaluation. You will provide specialist funding advice to artists and arts organisations, support assessment panels, contribute to the management of grant program budgets, build strategic partnerships, and work on initiatives that strengthen the City's arts and cultural sector.
About you
You are an experienced arts development professional with a strong background in government funding and grant administration. You bring a sound understanding of the arts sector, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to manage complex programs and competing priorities with accuracy and professionalism.
You will bring
Strong experience managing arts, cultural, or community grant programs, including contracts, reporting, and evaluating results.
Advanced skills in SmartyGrants, including managing applications, assessments, workflows, and program administration.
Experience providing funding advice, stakeholder management, building partnerships, and supporting artists, arts organisations, and community groups.
Excellent project management, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
