Community Housing Limited is seeking a Housing Officer to deliver high quality tenancy and property management services. This role supports sustainable tenancies, fair and transparent property allocation, and compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
This is a 12-month full-time Fixed Term Contract based in our Nerang, Gold Coast Office. It offers a competitive salary, salary packaging and the opportunity to be part of a supportive team committed to delivering quality services and positive housing outcomes.
What you’ll do
As the Housing Officer, you will manage a range of tenancy and property management activities, including rent collection, arrears recovery, tenancy sign ups, lease and rent reviews, condition reports, exits, maintenance liaison and Tribunal or Court representation where required.
Day to day, you will:

Manage rental collection and arrears recovery processes in a timely and accurate manner.

Conduct condition reports, tenancy sign ups, entry procedures, lease and rent reviews, and exit procedures.

Liaise with asset teams regarding tenanted and vacated property maintenance.

Coordinate reporting, complaints, compliance, quality and accountability requirements to CHL standards.

Maintain accurate property and tenancy data across required systems.

Represent CHL at Tribunal or Court as required.

Provide information and advice to tenants to support sustainable tenancies.
What You’ll Bring
-
At least two years’ experience in a similar housing, tenancy or property management role.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act.

Experience delivering tenancy management, rent, arrears, compliance and customer service activities.

Awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of people in housing crisis or with complex support needs.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including working with support agencies and government departments.

Commitment to the right of every person to good quality housing.

A current Driver’s Licence.
Appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including Police, Working with Children and NDIS checks where applicable. All pre-employment checks will be arranged during onboarding.
