Project Info
You will work aboard Beverley, Australia's largest registered jack-up barge, purpose-built for complex marine construction. The vessel is currently central to building the offshore intake structure for the Alkimos desalination plant near Perth, working in a stable, elevated worksite above the ocean surface.
About the Opportunity
As Chief Electrician, you will oversee, maintain and troubleshoot the vessel's power generation, distribution and control systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation in line with the vessel SMS and applicable regulations. You will report to the Barge Master for marine safety and operational matters, and functionally to the Chief Engineer or Project Plant/Technical Lead for maintenance planning and spares. You will hold authority to stop work and isolate equipment when plant conditions are unsafe.
Key Accountabilities

Follow vessel SMS, permit-to-work and LOTO procedures

Inspect, maintain and fault-find generators and switchboards

Maintain transformers, distribution panels and cable runs

Test and maintain emergency power, UPS and alarm systems

Support jacking operations to maintain stable power supply

Verify electrical integrity during tow and move preparations

Maintain records, drawings and critical spares
Required Skills and Competencies

Australian electrical trade licence or recognised equivalent

STCW Basic Safety Training (PSSR, PST, FPFF) or equivalent

Construction Induction (White Card)

Solid industrial or marine electrical experience

Ability to obtain a Fit for Work medical clearance and National Crime Check.
