About the role:
This position is a Full-time, Fixed-Term role until 31 December 2027.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of digital and technology projects within Health Technology Services, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and aligned with departmental priorities and governance requirements.
Operating within a shared services environment supporting Victoria's public health sector, the role manages complex project delivery activities across infrastructure, cloud and application domains. The Senior Project Manager works closely with internal delivery teams, health service stakeholders and external vendors to plan, execute and transition projects into operational support in a controlled and sustainable manner.
The role applies contemporary project management practices to manage risk, dependencies and stakeholder expectations, and contributes to continuous improvement of project delivery approaches across HTS.

About you:

Manages day‑to‑day engagement with stakeholders, delivery partners and vendors, ensuring clear communication of project status, risks, issues and dependencies.

Develops and maintains project artefacts in line with departmental project management and governance frameworks, ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with agreed objectives and constraints.

Works with service delivery, architecture and support teams to minimise disruption to live services and ensure solutions are supportable and sustainable.

Applies sound knowledge of digital delivery, shared services environments and public sector governance to support effective decision‑making and problem solving.

Draft and develop material including the preparation of Cabinet and Cabinet related material, Ministerial and Secretary briefings and meeting papers, agendas, minutes and reports.
Qualification/Specialist Expertise
Tertiary qualification in information technology, business, project management or a related discipline.
Project management certification (for example, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent).

Equivalent professional experience in digital or technology project delivery will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Mandatory:

Demonstrated experience delivering digital or technology projects in complex environments, including responsibility for managing schedules, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies across the project lifecycle.

Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders and external vendors to deliver project outcomes and manage competing priorities.
Desirable:
-
Experience delivering infrastructure, cloud or application projects within shared services or regulated environments.

Experience supporting the transition of project deliverables into operational service, including handover and stabilisation activities.
< span>Experience working within government or large public sector organisations, with an understanding of governance, assurance and reporting requirements
