What you'll be doing
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Category Manager to execute the category strategy effectively. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining strong relationships with vendors, ensuring timely and accurate product uploads, and facilitating communication between Freedom Furniture and its suppliers.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Category Strategy: Assist in executing the strategic plan for the Homewares category, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market trends to drive growth and profitability.
- Supplier Management: Support in identifying, evaluating, and managing relationships with homewares suppliers and vendors, aiming to maintain a diverse and high-quality assortment of products at competitive prices.
- Product Assortment: Collaborate with the Category Manager to optimise the product assortment within the Homewares category, considering Freedom brand values, customer preferences, and market trends.
- Pricing and Margin Management: Assist in monitoring wholesale pricing from vendors to ensure competitive pricing and profitability, while also fostering vendor engagement in promotional events to maximise sales and margins.
- Inventory Optimisation: Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to manage inventory levels efficiently, including pre-order products, to minimise instances of being 'out of stock' while maximising inventory turnover.
- Performance Analysis: Support in analysing category performance metrics, sales data, returns, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to informed decision-making.
Who you are
- Previous experience in account management, category management, or related roles within the homewares/furniture or retail industry is preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
