About the Role:
We’re seeking a passionate and innovative Interdisciplinary Educator to join Forensicare’s Education, Research and Innovation team. This role is central to driving high-quality, evidence-based clinical practice across our workforce. You will lead the design, delivery and evaluation of interdisciplinary education and training programs, supporting clinicians to deliver safe, recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care. Working collaboratively with discipline-specific educators, you will play a key role in building workforce capability, strengthening clinical practice, and enhancing outcomes for consumers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of interdisciplinary education and training programs.
- Collaborate with discipline educators to embed evidence-based, best practice learning.
- Build workforce capability through education, coaching and professional development initiatives.
- Drive quality improvement through evaluation and continuous enhancement of training programs.
- Contribute to workforce sustainability, research and strategic education initiatives.
About You:
You are a passionate and collaborative clinician with experience in education and training, committed to advancing evidence-based, recovery-oriented practice within complex mental health settings.
Qualifications, knowledge, experience:
This is interdisciplinary opportunity and possession of a relevant tertiary qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate Board or Association as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist.
The qualifications required for each discipline are:
Registered Nurse RPN5:
- Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Must have current unrestricted registration with AHPRA and a post-graduate qualification in mental health nursing or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification nursing experience, preferably recent experience in community or prisons mental health setting or a demonstration of significant and extensive experience working within a secondary/tertiary mental health service.
Psychologist Grade 4:
- General registration with AHPRA
- Masters or Doctorate qualifications (Clinical, Forensic or Neuropsychology)
- Eligibility for (or enrolled in) an Area of Practice Endorsement (AoPE) in clinical psychology, clinical neuropsychology, and/or forensic psychology.
- Psychologists with Forensic AoPE alone will need to demonstrate the necessary education, training, and experience in clinical psychology needed to work in forensic mental health settings.
Social Worker Grade 4:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work coupled with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience (preferable)
Occupational Therapist Grade 4:
- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner’s Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
- Approved degree in Occupational Therapy and recognised for membership of OT Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience (preferable)
