The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team for a client in Oakleigh. This is your chance to play a vital role in maintaining a modern, well-regarded campus — ensuring it operates at peak performance for the benefit of students, staff, and the broader community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance Operations
- Perform carpentry and general maintenance tasks to a high standard on a daily basis.
- Manage equipment upkeep, furniture movement, and storage logistics.
- Support facility functions and setups including events and other ad hoc events where required.
- Work in with the Business Manager as required
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain cleanliness and order across the facility.
Facility Management
- Monitor building systems and ensure operational efficiency.
- Oversee security systems and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and address safety concerns immediately.
Inventory & Supplies
- Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Order and replenish stock as needed.
- Monitor and manage maintenance budgets.
Contractor Coordination
- Liaise with external contractors for specialised services.
- Supervise contractor work to ensure quality and compliance.
- Obtain quotes and manage service contracts.
Preventive Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance activities.
- Assist with emergency repairs and support urgent maintenance needs.
- Participate in emergency response planning and execution.
Essential Requirements
- Trade qualification or equivalent experience in building maintenance.
- Sound knowledge of building and grounds maintenance.
- Experience in a open space working environment
- Current Working with Children Check [MANDATORY].
- Current National Criminal History Police Check.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanour.
- Computer literacy for maintenance management systems.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Microsoft office understanding and capability
