About the role
We're looking for warm, reliable people to join our casual support team across the Lismore, Ballina and Byron region.
As a Disability Support Worker, you'll work alongside NDIS participants in their own homes and out in the community — helping them do the everyday things that make a life theirs. Some days that's a morning routine and a lift to an appointment. Some days it's a swim at Lennox, a shop at the Lismore markets, or just good company over a cuppa.
No two participants are the same, and we don't want you to treat them like they are. What we're really after is someone who turns up, listens properly, and does what they said they'd do.
What you'll be doing
- Personal care and daily living support — showering, dressing, grooming, medication prompts
- Domestic assistance — meal prep, light cleaning, shopping
- Community access — appointments, social outings, sport, groups, work or study
- Transport in your own vehicle or a company vehicle
- Building independence and confidence in line with each participant's NDIS goals
- Keeping clear, honest progress notes and flagging concerns early
What we're looking for
We'll teach you the paperwork. We can't teach you patience or decency — bring those.
Essential
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (NSW) — or willingness to obtain before you start
- Working With Children Check (NSW) — paid/employee category
- Current NSW driver's licence, comprehensively insured and roadworthy vehicle
- Availability across a mix of mornings, evenings and weekends
- Right to work in Australia
- Good written and verbal communication
Highly regarded
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or similar
- First Aid and CPR (HLTAID011 / HLTAID009)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module ("Quality, Safety and You")
- Experience with manual handling, hoists, PEG feeding, complex behaviour support or mental health
- Lived experience of disability, or of caring for someone with disability
No formal qualifications yet? Talk to us anyway. If you've cared for a family member, worked in aged care, hospitality or childcare, or you're studying towards a Cert III, we'd still like to hear from you.

About us
Northern Rivers Care Network is an unregistered NDIS provider supporting people across the Northern Rivers. We have been operating for just over a year and are a growing company. We currently employ 7 staff and have lots of new participants coming onboard. We pride ourselves on delivering genuine "care", we care for all of our participants, staff and their families. Pay: From $45.30 per hour
