The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to take full ownership of our material procurement and inventory management. In this vital role, you will streamline our supply chain, manage supplier relationships, and ensure our production team has exactly what they need, right when they need it.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Purchasing Ownership: Review job specifications, process material orders, purchase items and track deliveries to ensure everything arrives on time.
- Quality Control: Check supplier quotes against specifications before ordering and generate production dockets.
- Supplier Management: Build and manage supplier relationships, routinely review pricing, and find cost-saving efficiencies.
- Inventory Control: Track, manage and maintain optimal material stock levels.
- Problem Solving: Act as the primary contact with suppliers rapidly resolving any supply chain friction, credits, damage, or delivery delays.
- Process Efficiency: Actively identify cost-saving initiatives and streamline ordering workflows to increase overall business efficiency.
What You Bring:
- Industry Savvy: Prior experience in the window, door, or broader building industry is highly desirable.
- Meticulous Organisation: Superior time-management skills with a proven capability to prioritise tasks in a busy manufacturing environment.
- Tech & Mobility: Proficiency with computers and a current Australian driver’s license.
