About the role
As a result of our strategic growth plans, we are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our NSW team of 35+ staff across two offices. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and guide CMW Geosciences' operations, strategic direction, and continued growth. You will bring an in-depth understanding of the NSW market, along with proven leadership skills and the ability to drive high-performing teams.
Responsibilities

Lead NSW business strategy and operations, driving growth, managing risk, and delivering regional objectives.
- Oversee financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, profitability, and commercial decision-making.
- Provide strong leadership and people management, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and positive workplace culture.
- Drive business development and client engagement, building relationships, securing opportunities, and growing market presence.
- Champion safety, quality, and technical excellence, ensuring compliance, continuous improvement, and outstanding service delivery.
What You'll Need

Degree-qualified Civil Engineer (or equivalent)

10+ years' experience as a geotechnical professional + minimum 4 years' experience in a management position within an engineering consultancy environment.

Proven leader with a strong track record of building, developing, and growing high-performing teams across a region.

Strong understanding of the NSW market, with demonstrated success in winning work and driving business growth.

Commercially astute, with experience managing P&L performance, budgets, and business outcomes.

Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills, with flexibility to travel across NSW as required.
