Odyssey House NSW’s trauma-informed services set us apart as a leader in the support service space for alcohol and other drugs dependency. Our teams help clients to meet their goals and address underlying trauma and mental health issues, while also developing new skills to improve all aspects of their lives.
We provide a diverse range of services to individuals, families and community education. Our services include withdrawal services; one-on-one assessment and treatment by psychologists and counsellors; group therapy; residential rehabilitation; and free education at Odyssey College.

Aboriginal identified role, supporting community through Mingu Yabun
Walk alongside mob on their healing journey with culturally safe AOD support
Yarn, learn and grow with internal cultural mentoring and support
Work closely with other Aboriginal staff across Community and Residential teams
Part time (2 days per week)
We're looking for an Aboriginal Liaison AOD Treatment Worker to walk alongside our community and provide culturally safe, assertive support through the Mingu Yabun program
Yarn with clients to understand their story, complete brief and comprehensive assessments, and build cultural care plans together
Provide one to one treatment, care coordination and case management grounded in culture and the Odyssey Model of Care
Facilitate group programs and deliver culturally appropriate, Aboriginal led activities
Support mob in crisis with specialised, culturally safe assistance
Work closely with Aboriginal staff across Community and Residential Programs, and with kinship and community connections
Build strong referral and shared care pathways, particularly with Aboriginal Community Controlled organisations
Skills and Experiences:
Relevant VET or tertiary qualification in a related field, or equivalent lived and professional experience
Experience supporting Aboriginal people with AOD, mental health and/or co-occurring needs, working alongside individuals, families and communities
Strong connection to and understanding of Aboriginal communities and Community Controlled organisations
Experience in group facilitation, one to one support, and brief and comprehensive assessment
An understanding of the health and wellbeing issues that affect Aboriginal people and communities
Knowledge of evidence-based treatment, harm minimisation and care coordination
Emotional resilience and the ability to stay grounded and calm while supporting clients through difficult times
Current NSW Driver Licence
Working With Children Check for paid work
National Police Check (< 1 yr old)
Right to live and work in Australia
