Heston MRO Pty Ltd (Heston MRO) is a provider of world class aircraft maintenance services to a wide variety of domestic and international airlines.
Based in Brisbane with operations at all major Australian airports, we are seeking someone to join our close knit, supportive team at our Head Office.
We have a varied and exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join our Finance Team in Brisbane.
Some of the primary duties and responsibilities that make up this role include:
- Train, supervise and manage workload of finance staff
- Oversee the month-end close process, providing detailed reviews and insightful commentary on financial results.
- Prepare annual financial statements for review by CFO
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
- Review complex airline customer contracts and invoices to ensure billing accuracy
- Apply in-depth aviation knowledge to invoicing process to ensure revenue maximisation.
- Build relationships with station managers, so that the link between “on ramp” and “head office” staff is strong and operating with maximum efficiency
- Manage aviation supplier list (quality and safety is paramount in our industry)
- Oversee bank reconciliations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare balance sheet schedules for monthly and quarterly close, completed by the 6th business day of the following month.
- Design and submit weekly performance reports for investors
- Monitor and manage cash flow, implementing cost control measures where necessary.
- Manage BAS statements and ensure timely quarterly and year-end reconciliations.
- Oversee FBT submissions
- Calculate monthly payroll tax and year end reconciliation.
- Conduct internal & external audits, as well as coordinating end of year audit.
About you
- Degree in Accounting (or similar)
- Aviation experience including detailed knowledge of revenue generation and invoicing
- Strong communication and relationships within the airline industry
- IFS ERP system experience
- SERA revenue recording system experience
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to prepare and interpret trend analysis to support decision-making
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and standards
- Excellent understanding of Australian taxation requirements
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders across all levels
Pay: $79,423 per annum
