About the role
The Associate Director Project Development & Feasibility leads the planning, assessment and development significant creative infrastructure projects across NSW. Working from project inception through to funding decisions, you will oversee the preparation of business cases, feasibility studies and investment proposals that support the growth of the arts and cultural sector. You will provide strategic advice on infrastructure priorities, ensuring projects deliver community benefit, represent value for money and align with government and organisational objectives.
The role involves working closely with NSW Cultural Institutions, government agencies and other key stakeholders to identify investment opportunities and develop strong evidence-based proposals. You will lead assurance and approval processes, ensuring compliance with relevant government frameworks and guidelines, while providing expert advice on capital investment decisions.
In addition, you will drive continuous improvement across infrastructure programs, grants and business processes. You will oversee effective governance, risk management and reporting arrangements for funded projects, helping to ensure public funding is used responsibly and projects are delivered on time, within agreed parameters and with measurable outcomes.
About You
You bring experience delivering infrastructure projects from planning and development through to implementation and completion. You are confident preparing new project proposals, feasibility assessments and business cases that support informed investment decisions and demonstrate clear strategic and community benefits. Your ability to balance detailed analysis with competing priorities and tight deadlines will enable you to deliver high-quality work in a complex and evolving environment.
You are comfortable working across a range of stakeholders and can translate complex financial, economic and technical information into clear and practical advice. Experience navigating government policy, funding and regulatory frameworks will be highly regarded, particularly knowledge of the NSW planning system. An understanding of the arts, cultural or creative sectors, and experience working with not-for-profit organisations, will be advantageous. Most importantly, you will bring strong judgement, a collaborative approach and the ability to identify opportunities that support long-term infrastructure outcomes.
