About the Business Unit:
Strategic Communication is the department's centralised communication team and delivers communication services on behalf of the department's business units to inform and educate the community about departmental policies, programs and legislation across the justice and community safety system.
The Internal Communication team is responsible for developing and delivering effective communication to Department of Justice and Community Safety employees across Victoria to drive staff engagement and service delivery.
About the Role:
The Senior Advise r, Internal Communication will work closely with the Manager, Internal Communication to provide strategic communication expertise and support to the department's business units and regions to inform and engage staff. The role will support the Manager in the development and implementation of best practice communication strategies and materials to support changes to the criminal justice system such as bail reforms, with an emphasis on reaching frontline staff.
Some of your duties will include:
Provide expert guidance on best practice internal communication.
Develop a range of communication tools and materials and manage complex internal communication projects, with a particular focus on the department's frontline staff.
Develop and implement effective communication strategies to inform the department and key stakeholders of department initiatives and policies, particularly in relation to changes to the criminal justice system such as bail reform, ensuring alignment with other initiatives and departmental priorities.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

Proven ability to synthesise complex plans and concepts into accessible, timely and succinct communication products for a range of audiences. Strong writing skills are essential.

Extensive experience in change-based projects or awareness campaigns.

Strong project and stakeholder management skills - ability to prioritise and exercise leadership to effectively address internal and external stakeholder issues, influencing others to identify opportunities and broker long-lasting solutions.
