Cafe 63 Dalby is seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. Key Responsibilities
· Assist in developing innovative menus while considering food costs, labour costs, seasonal availability, customer preferences, and overall kitchen operations.
· Forecast food and ingredient requirements, monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and arrange ordering of food supplies required for daily kitchen operations.
· Oversee food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation to ensure all dishes are prepared consistently and meet the required quality standards.
· Work closely with management, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team members to resolve food preparation, service, and operational issues.
· Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff on food preparation methods, cooking procedures, portion control, and presentation standards.
· Prepare and cook a range of dishes in accordance with menu requirements, recipes, customer orders, and restaurant quality expectations.
· Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and workplace health and safety regulations within the kitchen and food preparation areas.
· Assist with the selection, training, and supervision of kitchen staff to ensure smooth integration into daily kitchen operations.
· Apply appropriate freezing, storage, preservation, and stock rotation methods to maintain ingredient quality, reduce wastage, and support efficient kitchen operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Chef or in a similar commercial kitchen role.
- An AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Commercial Cookery, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or a relevant field.
Hours: 38 hours per week - Full-time
Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation per annum
