- Inspecting and Receiving Carcasses: Receive and inspect slaughtered livestock carcasses for any bruises, blood clots, and other abnormalities, ensuring that they meet quality standards before processing.
- Carcass Handling and Movement: Operate controls to direct and drop carcasses from supply rails to boning tables for further processing.
- Meat Cutting: Skilfully cut and separate meat, fat, and tissue from bones. Remove any unwanted matter like fat, gristle, and internal fat to prepare meat for further processing.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain cutting and slicing equipment to divide sides and quarters of meat into standard cuts.
- Meat Preparation: Clean, trim, and prepare cuts of meat by removing blood clots, bruises, and other impurities.
- Work Area & Equipment Hygiene: Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment and ensure all equipment is regularly cleaned and properly maintained, while strictly following safety and hygiene regulations.
- Collaborative Workflow: Work alongside other meat processing workers to ensure an efficient and seamless workflow.
- Receiving & Storing Meat: Assist in the receiving, inspection, and storage of meat products.
- The Right Applicant Will Meet the Following Requirements:
- Proven experience in meat boning and slicing (minimum2+ years preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet quality and safety standards.
- Experience with meat cutting and slicing machinery.
- Familiarity with hygiene standards and safety regulations in meat processing.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to lift heavy carcasses and handle physical work.
- Strong attention to detail and precision when cutting and inspecting meat.
- Ability to commute/relocate: Hoppers Crossing VIC 3029: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
