About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Corporate Lawyer to support Santos’ Australian and Papua New Guinean Upstream Oil & Gas operations with proactive, timely, accurate, cost effective and commercial legal advice.
You will
- Support the Australian and Papua New Guinean Upstream Oil & Gas Legal Team
- Based in Brisbane Santos' Upstream Operational centre but supporting the business across Australia and PNG
- Provide strategic, risk-focused advice to all aspects of Santos’ business including in relation to:
o Commercial contracts, negotiations and disputes
o Joint venture arrangements
o Regulatory, compliance and approvals matters
o Land access, native title and cultural heritage
- Work alongside senior leaders and gain exposure to world-class energy projects with an ASX20 global energy company committed to providing reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone.
About You
This is a rare opportunity for lawyers with 3-6 years of post-qualification experience (either or both in private practice and in-house) to apply and extend their legal and commercial skills in an exciting in-house role in Santos’ operational centre in Brisbane.
You are enthusiastic, driven, collaborative – a problem solver and a pragmatist.
It is essential that you hold a law degree and be admitted as a solicitor in Queensland. The successful candidate will be business outcomes focused and demonstrate the ability to proactively anticipate legal obstacles and risks and develop proactive plans to address them.
Experience in energy or resources sectors will be held in high regard.
