What you will do
As senior prison officer, you will lead prison officers in a busy custodial setting.
You will help create a safe prison while supporting your team and the people in your care.
You will:
-
lead prison officers through daily custodial, security and case management duties
-
coordinate prison operations, respond to incidents and maintain prison security
-
support people in prison through complex case management and guidance
-
coach staff, monitor performance and help build a safe and respectful workplace
-
maintain accurate records, prepare reports and act as officer in charge when required.
About you
You must hold a full Victorian driver's licence or at least a P2 driver's licence. You must have completed, or be willing to complete, the Prison Officer Pre-Service Training. A Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Custodial) and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment are desirable.
You should also have:

demonstrated leadership experience in a correctional environment
-
strong knowledge of prison operations, legislation, policies and security practices
-
sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems
-
excellent communication, coaching and problem-solving skills with a commitment to safe and inclusive workplaces.
