About the Role
We're looking for a Payroll & Finance Officer to join our Finance Team.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional to support the delivery of accurate and efficient payroll and finance services across Lutheran Care. As our Payroll & Finance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring reliable payroll operations while also providing finance support across Allied Health, Retail, and NDIS/PBS programs.
Working closely with the Finance Team and the Executive Manager Commercial Services, you will contribute to strong financial governance, data integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll activities including pay runs, superannuation, taxation, leave processing and terminations.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and set up new employees within ELMO.
- Respond to payroll enquiries from staff and managers in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare payroll reconciliations, month-end journals and statutory payroll payments.
- Support compliance with SCHADS, HPSS and Retail Award payroll requirements.
- Provide operational finance support across Allied Health and NDIS/PBS programs, including accounts payable and receivable processing.
- Assist with PBS invoicing, debtor management and financial reconciliations as required.
- Maintain data integrity across systems including Business Central, ELMO, Cliniko and VisiCase.
- Perform financial data checks, resolve discrepancies and support process improvements.
- Generate reports and provide finance-related support to internal stakeholders.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 3-4 years' experience in a similar payroll or finance role.
- Qualifications in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience.
- Experience processing payroll and completing reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable:
- Experience within the not-for-profit or community services sector.
- Knowledge of SCHADS, HPSS and Retail Awards.
- Experience using Business Central, ELMO, PRODA, Cliniko or VisiCase.
- Understanding of NDIS funding and billing processes.
