About the Role
This is a full-time hands-on role responsible for creating and delivering incredible respite experiences for people with disabilities across Western Australia.
You’ll work directly with participants throughout their respite experience, providing high-quality, person-centred support while helping participants build independence, develop skills, and enjoy meaningful activities and experiences.
Alongside direct participant support, you'll help coordinate the planning and delivery of respite from booking through to post-respite follow-up. You'll work closely with participants, families, Respite Leads, Support Workers, and the national team to ensure every respite is safe, well organised, inclusive, and genuinely fun.
This role is ideal for someone who loves working directly with people, is confident taking ownership, and can balance hands-on support with the coordination, communication, and problem-solving required to deliver successful respite experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Direct Participant Support
- Provide hands-on person-centred support to participants throughout respite experiences.
- Facilitate meaningful activities, community access, and experiences that align with participants' interests, goals, and individual needs.
- Build positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with participants and their families.
- Promote participant choice, dignity, rights, independence, and inclusion at all times.
- Monitor participant wellbeing and respond appropriately to changes in needs, behaviour, health or safety.
- Communicate participant needs, progress, incidents, and concerns to the appropriate team members.
Respite Coordination & Support
- Coordinate the assignment of Respite Leads and Support Workers for each respite booking, ensuring staffing is appropriate for participant needs.
- Work with the State Team to ensure participants are booked and prepared for respite in a timely manner.
- Communicate directly with participants and families before respire to understand needs, preferences, routines, and expectations.
- Support Respite Leads and Support Workers to deliver safe, high-quality and participant-focused respite experiences.
- Maintain compliance with state-based regulations, organisational policies, and relevant safeguarding requirements.
- Ensure Respite Leads adhere to participants’ Support Plans, coordinate pre-respite communications and preparations, conduct daily compliance checks, manage post-respite requirements, handle medication assistance, and maintain high standards of care and safety.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
