Our garden centre is growing! We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated nursery person for our retail plant nursery.
Criteria:
- Minimum 3 years retail nursery experience
- Certificate III in Horticulture, higher or equivalent qualification
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Understanding of organic and non-organic gardening methods
- Understanding of Northern Rivers climatic and regional growing conditions for gardeners, landscapers and farmers.
- Excellent attention to detail, plant diagnostic and observation skills
- Efficient time management and prioritisation skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Good physical fitness for moving large plants and pots
- Availability 25 hours per week including regular weekend shifts
The Role:
- Serving customers with a confident familiarity of the needs, tolerances and attributes of local productive, functional and ornamental plant varieties
- Horticultural maintenance, nutritional health and pest control of nursery plants for sale and in display gardens
- Making plant suggestions for customers to guide the optimal development of their gardens according to their needs and style preferences
- Merchandising stock for optimal visual effect and sales
- Receiving, processing and putting out stock
- A nursery based role, supporting the broader garden centre and landscape yard where necessary
