About the role
The Dispatch Forklift Operator is responsible for supporting production, warehouse, and dispatch operations to ensure the accurate handling, storage, and distribution of finished goods. This role involves operating forklifts safely, preparing orders for dispatch, maintaining inventory accuracy, performing quality and temperature checks, completing dispatch documentation, and ensuring compliance with food safety and company standards. The position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient warehouse operations and ensuring products are delivered accurately and on time.
What you'll do

Operate forklifts and safely move, store, and load finished products.

Support production activities, including pallet and packaging changeovers.

Conduct product quality and label checks, including UBDs, batch codes, and product codes.

Prepare and inspect pallets for dispatch, including wrapping and applying correct labels.

Inspect delivery vehicles and verify product temperatures before dispatch.

Ensure accurate dispatch quantities and report any discrepancies.

Process dispatch orders, dockets, transfer documents, and related paperwork.

Maintain accurate inventory, dispatch, delivery, and equipment records.

Follow FIFO procedures and maintain clean and organized warehouse areas.

Conduct daily forklift pre-start checks and report equipment issues.

Prepare runsheets, production plans, dispatch plans, and product labels.

Ensure all activities comply with food safety, workplace health and safety, and company procedures.
Qualification

Valid Forklift License/Certification.

Previous experience in warehouse, dispatch, logistics, or manufacturing environments.

Ability to operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.

Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse management systems (e.g., NetSuite) is advantageous.

Ability to read and interpret dispatch plans, labels, and documentation.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Understanding of inventory control and stock rotation principles (FIFO).

Ability to work in chilled and frozen storage environments.

Experience in food manufacturing, cold storage, or FMCG environments.

Knowledge of dispatch documentation, transport labeling, and inventory management processes.

Experience with pallet wrapping equipment and warehouse reporting procedures.
