Join the Safe Staffing Levels Rollout | Shape the Future of Regional Emergency Care
Step into a role where your work truly matters. Join a supportive and progressive Emergency Department team in Taree as we deliver the Safe Staffing Levels initiative and strengthen patient care across our community.
Here, you’ll be part of a service that’s evolving and investing in its people, while living in a stunning coastal and hinterland region that gives you space to breathe, explore, and thrive.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurses who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care. As part of the Safe Staffing Levels project, you’ll be joining a team that benefits from improved staffing ratios and strong clinical leadership.
What does Safe Staffing Mean for You?
The NSW Government is rolling out minimum nurse-to-patient ratios across Emergency Departments, ensuring safer, more sustainable workloads for nurses and better care for patients. For you, that means:
- 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratios in treatment areas
- Dedicated triage and in-charge roles 24/7
Improved support, safer conditions, and time to focus on your patients
-
You’ll be backed by a collaborative team of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Practitioners, Educators, and a strong senior leadership team, all committed to professional development and wellbeing. As part of a modern healthcare environment, Manning Emergency Department uses SDPR, an advanced electronic medical record system that enhances communication, supports clinical decision-making and contributes to safer, more connected patient care.
Where You’ll Be Working

- Easy access to Barrington Tops – waterfalls, rainforest walks, and alpine scenery just over an hour away
- A genuine sea or tree change lifestyle – with affordable housing, more space, and less stress
- Close connections to major centres – approximately 1 hour to Port Macquarie and 2 hours to Newcastle
About You:
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Experience in ED or acute care settings
- Confidence in meeting Transfer of Care (ToC) KPIs
- Committed to continuous learning and evidence-based practice
- Strong communicator and team player

You'll benefit from:
