Communify is seeking an experienced and compassionate Brief Intervention Worker to join our Acacia Ridge Neighbourhood Centre team.
This rewarding role provides direct support to individuals and families experiencing hardship, crisis or complex life challenges. Working within a community-focused environment, you will deliver brief interventions, information, referrals, advocacy and practical assistance while helping people build resilience and access the support they need.

About the Role
As a Brief Intervention Worker, you will:
- Provide brief intervention, crisis support and practical assistance to individuals and families
- Conduct client assessments and develop appropriate support responses
- Provide information, referrals and advocacy
- Support emergency relief and community-based programs
- Assist with No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS) and other financial inclusion initiatives
- Develop and facilitate community groups, activities and events
- Build strong relationships with local services and community stakeholders
- Maintain accurate client records and reporting requirements
- Support volunteers and students within the service
About You
You are passionate about supporting people and creating positive outcomes for your community.
You will bring:
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in community services, social work, counselling or a related field
- Experience working with individuals and families experiencing complex needs
- Strong communication, engagement and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Mandatory Requirements
- Current National Police Check
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid working rights in Australia
