Cumberland Care Service is a well-established, privately owned care provider that has been supporting older Australians and people living with disability across the Sutherland Shire, St George, Georges River, Bayside and surrounding areas since 1995.

As our organisation continues to grow, we are seeking compassionate, reliable and motivated Support Workers to join our dedicated team.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will provide personalised support to participants in their homes and within the community, assisting them to achieve their individual goals while maintaining their independence and quality of life.
Services may include:
- Personal Care
- Assistance with Daily Living
- Domestic Assistance
- Meal Preparation
- Community Access and Social Support
- Shopping and transport to appointments
- Medication Prompting
- Promoting participant choice, independence and wellbeing
- Accurate completion of progress notes and required documentation
- Reporting changes in participant wellbeing, risks or support needs
Shifts generally range from 2 to 5 hours and are available across mornings, afternoons, evenings and occasional weekends.
As this is a community-based role, travel between participant locations is required. Due to the nature of community care, broken shifts may be required in accordance with the SCHADS Award. Cumberland Care Service endeavours to roster shifts efficiently; however, applicants must be willing to work broken shifts where operationally required.
Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold a current Australian Driver Licence.
- Own a reliable motor vehicle with current comprehensive insurance covering occasional business use.
- Own a mobile phone for work-related communication.
- Be available to work a minimum of three weekdays during daytime hours.
- Be willing to work weekend shifts based on participant needs.
- Be willing to work broken shifts in accordance with the SCHADS Award where operationally required.
- Be able to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a supportive team.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, time management and organisational skills.
- Be reliable, professional and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
Mandatory Compliance Requirements
Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Working with Children Check (where applicable).
- Current National Police Check.
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011 or equivalent).
- Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009).
- Evidence of the right to work in Australia.
- All Mandatory Annual Training in accordance with NDIS Practice Standards.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience working within the NDIS, Aged Care or Community Services sector.
- Experience supporting participants with personal care, mobility assistance, dementia, psychosocial disability or complex support needs.
