Respiratory Scientist
Sydney Respiratory & Sleep is a growing private respiratory and sleep service based in Burwood.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a motivated Respiratory Scientist to join us on a casual basis with opportunity for Permanent Part-Time pending ability
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Calibration and preparation of equipment used in lung function testing
- Work in accordance with the laboratory procedures manual and international guidelines
- Perform lung function tests (spirometry, DLCO, lung volumes) according to international standards
- Achieve accurate, reliable and repeatable measurements of a patient's lung function
- Analyse, calculate and present the results for reporting
- Observe cleaning and infection control procedures within the lab
- General administration duties involved with the operation of the lab
- Maintaining stocks of consumable items
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Bachelor of Science/Applied Science or equivalent
- Relevant experience in lung function testing is desirable but not essential
- Training will be provided to the right candidate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a busy team
- Cover for leave on occasion when required
- Remuneration will be based on experience
