About the role:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Parks and Streetscapes Team Member to join our Parks and Gardens team. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of some of the South West's most valued parks, reserves, gardens and community spaces.
Reporting to the Parks and Streetscapes Leading Hand, you will be required to work between the hours of 6:00am and 3:00pm. You will be predominantly based in Busselton, but may on occasion be required to work in Dunsborough.
What you’ll be doing:
- Tree lopping, pruning, mulching and weed control activities
- Maintaining cemetery grounds, assisting with grave preparation when required
- Planting trees, shrubs and seasonal garden displays
- Operating a range of equipment (including wood chipper) safely and effectively
- Conducting routine plant inspections, cleaning and basic maintenance
As the successful applicant you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A positive attitude and commitment to workplace safety
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Desirable Qualifications:
- Formal qualification in Horticulture or Arboriculture
- Current Basic Traffic Management and Traffic Control certification
- High Risk Work Licences including; Dogmans and Confined Spaces
- Chainsaw and Pole saw certification
- Auschem or Chemcert AQF III
Pre-employment requirements:
- White Card
- Proof of right to work in Australia
- Current MR or HR Class Drivers Licence
- National Police Clearance not more than six months old
The successful candidate will also undertake a pre-employment medical assessment, functional capacity assessment and audio testing.
