We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of AML/CTF & Responsible Gaming Compliance to lead and continually strengthen our Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) Program and Responsible Gaming Framework.
This is a critical role responsible for ensuring West HQ meets its regulatory obligations while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability and responsible gaming. Working closely with the team, Board and regulators, you will provide strategic oversight of our compliance framework, minimise regulatory risk and ensure best practice is embedded throughout our operations without compromising exceptional customer experiences.
About the Role:
As the Head of AML/CTF & Responsible Gaming Compliance, you will provide strategic leadership across all aspects of AMLF/CTF compliance and responsible gaming.
You will oversee the design, implementation and continuous improvement of our AML/CTF Program and Responsible Gaming Framework, ensuring they remain effective, risk based and aligned with evolving regulatory expectations.
You will serve as the primary liaison with regulators and external stakeholders while partnering with operational leaders to balance strong governance with commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Act as West HQ’s appointed AML/CTF Compliance Officer in accordance with legislative requirements.

Develop, implement, and maintain the club’s AML/CTF Program, ensuring alignment with all legislative and regulatory obligations.

Lead the ongoing review and enhancement of AML/CTF governance frameworks, systems and controls.

Oversee customer due diligence (CDD), enhance customer due diligence (ECDD), politically exposed person (PEP) screening and sanctions screening processes are effectively implemented.

Conduct regular AML/CTF risk assessments.

Review and approve suspicious matter reporting processes.

Lead the Club’s Responsible Gambling Strategy and ensure compliance with all RCG obligations.

Maintain and oversee the Responsible Gambling / Responsible Gaming framework.

Manage all statutory AML/CTF reporting obligations within prescribed legislative timeframes.
The Successful Candidate:

Demonstrated experience in a senior risk, compliance or governance leadership role
Strong knowledge of the NSW regulatory environment (clubs, hospitality or gaming highly regarded) -
Deep understanding of AML/CTF frameworks and regulatory expectations

Proven experience working with Boards and Committees in a governance setting

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders and regulators

Experience driving enterprise-wide risk uplift and embedding practical, operational risk cultures

Negotiates effectively and influences positive compliance outcomes.
