iHuman Dental is a new and modern dental practice committed to providing high-quality, compassionate dental care. We are seeking a warm, friendly, and motivated Dental Assistant to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive practice where you will work closely with our dentist, assist in delivering excellent patient care, and contribute to the smooth operation of our clinic.
About the Role
As a Dental Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our clinical team and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist, ensuring patient comfort and efficient treatment flow
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures
- Assist with dental procedures, including mixing materials and supporting clinical requirements
- Coordinate patient flow, including welcoming, escorting, and preparing patients for treatment
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control
- Perform sterilisation, instrument processing, and validation of sterilisation cycles
- Maintain surgery cleanliness, changeover procedures, equipment, and stock levels
- Assist with stock control and laboratory coordination
- Support radiography procedures and digital dental workflows (if qualified)
- Complete clinical documentation and basic computer/data entry tasks
- Assist with patient enquiries, appointment scheduling, and general practice support when required
- Follow Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and report hazards or incidents promptly
About You
You are a reliable and enthusiastic team member with a genuine passion for patient care. You bring:
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting (preferred)
- Previous dental assisting experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional presentation and a friendly approach
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence using computers and dental software
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and patient care
- Initiative, reliability, punctuality, and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Desirable Skills
- Sterilisation qualification or experience
- First Aid qualification
- Reception experience or willingness to be cross-trained in front desk duties
