Assistant Barista Manager (2IC)

About the role:
We are looking for an experienced, energetic Assistant Barista Manager to support the day-to-day leadership of our barista team at Salesforce Tower Sydney. Reporting to the Key Account Director and Barista Manager, you will lead from the floor, deliver exceptional service to employees, visitors and external guests, and help the team perform at its best.
This is a hands-on 2IC role with responsibility for maintaining high coffee standards across grind and dose adjustment, extraction consistency, milk texturing, latte art and cold brew, while also supporting team performance, service innovation and a safe workplace.
What you'll do:
- Support the Barista Manager with day-to-day team leadership and key management responsibilities.
- Lead by example on the floor, ensuring the team presents professionally and delivers warm, efficient and consistent service.
- Coach and support baristas to maintain exceptional beverage quality across espresso, milk-based drinks and cold brew.
- Monitor and adjust grind, dose and extraction to maintain consistency throughout service.
- Help evolve the barista offering through new drink concepts and service improvements, within operational and budget requirements.
- Maintain a safe, healthy and well-organised workplace in line with site procedures.
- Work with client onsite maintenance teams and external service providers when equipment support is required.
- Move supplies and equipment as needed to support daily operations.
What you'll bring:
- Full working rights in Australia are required for this position.
- At least three years' experience in barista management or supervision within a fast-paced city café environment.
- Proven experience leading, coaching and motivating a team.
- Advanced, hands-on coffee knowledge and a genuine appreciation for high-quality coffee and hospitality.
- A client-focused mindset and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
- Energy, ambition and composure in a busy, demanding and ever-changing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently meet relevant service-level agreements and standard operating procedures.
- Confidence using technology and operational reporting to identify insights and trends.
- Proficiency with Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Workspace is preferred.

Pay: $35.00 – $37.58 per hour
