We're looking for a motivated Graduate Drill and Blast Engineer to join our team and build a long-term career in mining. You'll be based in our Brisbane Support Office with regular travel to site so you can gain hands-on exposure to all facets of the drill and blast function under the mentorship of experienced engineers and supervisors.

The Role
As our Graduate Drill and Blast Engineer, you'll support the planning, design and continuous improvement of drill and blast activities on site. You'll report to our supportive Technical Services Manager, working alongside experienced engineers and supervisors to build your technical foundations.
What You'll Do

Assist in the design and review of drill patterns and blast layouts to meet production and fragmentation targets

Support day-to-day drill and blast planning, flagging any constraints or deviations that could affect production

Participate in explosive management processes, including compliant storage, handling and charging activities

Contribute to safety observations, critical control audits and pre-blast inspections under supervision

Collect, analyse and report on blast performance data to support continuous improvement

Work collaboratively with Drill and Blast, Operational Crews, Site Personnel, Production and Maintenance teams
What You'll Need
Must-haves:

Degree qualification (completed or nearing completion) in Mining Engineering or a related discipline

Vacation work, cadetship or prior exposure to an open-cut mining environment

Right to work in Australia and based in Queensland

Standard 11 or willing to obtain one

Current Queensland Coal Mine Workers' Health Assessment (or willing to obtain)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a genuine interest in drill and blast design

Able to pass pre-employment checks including medical, drug and alcohol and background check
Nice to have:

Familiarity with blast design or mine planning software
