An exciting opportunity exists for a Manager (Active Transport) to lead the delivery of complex active transport infrastructure investment programs and procurement activities, while providing strategic advice to senior leaders and driving outcomes that support safer, more connected communities across Queensland.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Leading and developing a high performing team delivering a complex program of work related to active transport infrastructure investment programs and procurement.
Analysing program funding, project budgets and delivery schedules in line with approved targets and providing advice to senior management on variances, trends, and financial positions.
Managing strategic issues and risks while providing accurate strategic advice, reports and general correspondence to the Executive Director, General Manager, Deputy Director-General, Director-General and the Minister.
Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and representing TMR in working groups, forums and committees.
Managing and guiding procurement processes across the Transport Strategy and Planning branch to support the delivery of critical projects.

Requirements of the role:
Demonstrated ability to manage delivery of a complex program of work and to lead diverse team of professionals.
Knowledge of government procurement processes and practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical business environment.
Proven ability to engage and collaborate with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders and to exert positive influence to achieve desired outcomes for active transport infrastructure investment programs.
Capability to apply program management principles and methodology to manage and report on programs and to achieve successful project and program outcomes.
Understanding of the importance of ethics and probity and the ability to maintain a high standard of practice through governance, record keeping and risk management.
Highly desirable attributes:
Demonstrated procurement expertise and experience, or the ability to rapidly develop this capability through relevant training, to effectively exercise the high-value procurement delegation associated with this role.
