Your day as Associate Directors
As an Associate Director, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert advice on fiscal strategy, budget planning and management, and government policy matters. You will be responsible for leading a team to design and implement budget processes, provide advice to Government on the latest fiscal position, and draft and coordinate Budget papers. The roles also require collaboration with other Treasury teams and the broader public sector.
You will be joining our Policy and Budget Group and will be working in Budget Division. The Division provides expert advice and analysis to the Government on the State’s fiscal position and outlook and supports Treasury’s engagement with key stakeholders, including the Expenditure Review Committee of Cabinet and credit rating agencies. The Division also helps manage key processes for the State Budget and produces key budget products, including authoring chapters and appendices in Budget Papers. Achieve success as an Associate Director

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- High-Pressure Environments: Proven success in dynamic and innovative settings.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing multiple stakeholders.
- Technical Communication: Ability to convey complex information clearly in various formats.
- Project Management: Experience in project management and collaborative teamwork.
- Public Sector Knowledge: Strong knowledge of public sector financial management, economics, or government policy, with an understanding of NSW Government’s Prime system being desirable.
- Forecasting and Analysis: Experience in financial and economic forecasting is highly regarded.
- Qualifications: Appropriate tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, economics, public policy, or a related discipline.
