Salary: Grade 11/12, $154,231 - $178,369 p.a. + superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role
The Joint Child Protection Response Program (JCPRP) links the safety and risk assessment and protective intervention of the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) with the criminal investigation of NSW Police and the forensic medical, treatment and support services of NSW Health. JCPRP delivers a multidisciplinary response to serious child abuse matters across NSW.
The Manager Client Services JCPRP is responsible for the management of DCJ teams within JCPRP and supervises teams of Managers Casework, Caseworkers, Casework Support and Administration staff.
What you’ll do
Provide strategic leadership and management in JCPRP and be the senior representative of the DCJ in the local tri-agency management team.
Lead and manage cross-functional and specialised teams of professional and administrative staff to ensure the Business unit operates effectively and delivers quality child protection services to the community’s children, young people and families, including services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Provide leadership and management of all operational aspects of the business unit including human resources, finance, office administration, and monitoring and reporting on the business unit’s performance to ensure delivery of quality services within budget.
Prepare a range of documentation such as Critical and Contentious issue briefs, Ministerial Briefings and Management Reports in relation to care and protection issues to ensure accurate and timely information is provided to the Director of the business unit.
Establish collaborative relationships with community partners and NGOs to integrate service provision at a local level and enhance the design and viability of the service system.
Be proactive in providing leadership to facilitate the implementation of agreed change at the front line in a way that aligns operational activities with the corporate and strategic directions of the Agency.
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
Develop effective strategies and show decisiveness in dealing with emotionally charged situations, difficult and controversial issues.
Build and monitor a workplace culture that values fair and inclusive practices and diversity principles.
Promote and manage alliances within the organisation and across the public, private and community sectors.
Initiate and develop partnerships with customers to define and evaluate service performance outcomes.
Work through issues, weigh up alternatives and identify the most effective solutions.
Identify resource needs and ensure goals are achieved within budget and deadlines.
Develop team/unit plans that take into account team capability, strengths and opportunities for development.
Address and resolve team and individual performance issues, including unsatisfactory performance in a timely and effective way.
To be eligible to apply you must have:
Tertiary qualification in a social work, social/Behavioural Science, Welfare or related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
Experience leading and managing teams in complex and challenging situations, including a high-volume work area.
Highly developed skills working in a collaborative interagency program are very important in this role.
Excellent communication, negotiation and problem solving skills.
Proven experience in interagency stakeholder engagement and negotiation.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
