About the Role
We are seeking passionate teachers who can:
- Help students discover their full potential
- Foster confidence, creativity, and a love of music
- Deliver engaging, high-quality individual and group lessons
- Support students across performance, examinations, auditions, and showcases
Teachers will occasionally assist with ensembles and our half-yearly and end-of-year performances, which are a cherished part of our community.
Qualifications & Training Essentials
Applicants must have:
- A Bachelor of Music (minimum) — completed or in final stages
- Accreditation to teach only within the discipline your degree qualifies you for
- An ability to teach Piano (Intermediate/advanced), Drums (beginner or beginner intermediate) and Guitar (beginner or beginner intermediate)
- Experience teaching individual lessons
- Availability preferably Wednesdays and Saturdays or a weekday and Saturday daytime preferably
- A Working with Children Check at the time of employment
Highly regarded qualifications:
- Graduates from Melbourne University, VCA, Sydney Conservatorium, Queensland Conservatorium, Monash University and or Songwriting/Composition Degrees
- Applicants with other Australian or overseas university qualifications are warmly encouraged to apply also
Additional advantages (but not essential):
- Teaching qualification
- Zoom / online teaching experience
- Knowledge of GarageBand, Ableton, or Sibelius
Teaching & Musical Requirements
Successful applicants will be able to:
- Teach music theory, aural skills, and basic notation
- Prepare students for auditions, AMEB exams, competitions, gigs, and House of Voice performances
- Select appropriate repertoire across multiple styles and genres
- Teach vocal fundamentals across:
- Pop
- Rock
- Indie
- Soul
- R&B
- Jazz
- Musical Theatre
- Classical
- Adapt teaching approaches to suit beginners through to advanced students
- Relate confidently to a wide range of ages

Pay & Professional Development
- Pay rates fall within our stated brackets and are based on qualifications and experience
- Graduates or near-graduates requiring additional mentoring may be offered a different pay structure where extra professional development is provided
