We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technician – Road Service Supervisor – Heavy to join our team at our Perth branch and provide technical leadership while also performing hands-on servicing and repair of forklift and lifting equipment. This role involves supporting and supervising road service technicians, coordinating service activities, and carrying out mobile field service work across a range of customer sites. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment is maintained, repaired, and operating safely and efficiently across varied environments.

In this role you will be responsible for the following.
- Service, repair, and maintain customer forklifts and lifting equipment (up to 10.0T+ for heavy equipment) at various on-site locations including trusted, reliable brands like Caterpillar Lift Trucks, Konecranes, and Haulotte.
- Carry out planned maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic testing to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
- Perform equipment overhauls, modifications, and assist with new machine assembly as required.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults and complete repairs in line with industry standards and best practices.
- Respond to breakdowns and provide timely mobile service support to minimise equipment downtime.
- Work across a variety of customer sites, adapting to different environments and operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete all required documentation for each job.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with company procedures and customer expectations.
- Oversee and support road service technicians in daily operations and technical delivery.
- Coordinate workload allocation, resources, and scheduling to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Identify training needs and support standardisation of work practices across the team.
- Ensure all work is completed within planned and expected timeframes.
- Provide technical guidance and support to technicians as required.
- Assist with estimating and job planning in conjunction with the service team.
- Conduct or support major inspections and technical assessments as required.
- Liaise with factories regarding technical issues and support requirements.
- Support and maintain key customer relationships through service delivery excellence.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications and experience.
- Trade qualification as an Automotive, Mobile Plant Mechanic, or Heavy Diesel Mechanic is essential.
- Strong experience working with heavy diesel or large-scale mobile equipment.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a professional approach.
- Electrical and hydraulic experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as part of daily work requirements.
