About the role
As an Automatic Door/Gate Technician at Talbot Auto Doors, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated doors, gates and shutters across the Melbourne region. This full-time role is a hands-on position that requires a strong technical skillset and a keen eye for detail. You will work closely with our customers to ensure their automated access solutions are operating safely and efficiently. For the right person, this role is also a genuine launchpad: we back technicians who want to grow, whether that means deepening your technical expertise, stepping into leadership, or one day running your own Talbot franchise.
What you'll be doing
- Install, service, and repair a variety of automatic door, gate and shutter systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with electrical, mechanical, and software components
- Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections to prevent malfunctions
- Liaise with customers to understand their needs and provide expert advice
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years' experience as an Automatic Door/Gate Technician or in a similar technical role
- Strong working knowledge of automated door and gate systems, including electrical, mechanical, and software components
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
- Drive and ambition: you're looking for a role you can grow with, not just a job
- A valid driver's licence
