Occupational Therapist (OT) – Position Description

Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to support clients across NDIS and aged care programs. The OT will assess needs, deliver therapeutic interventions, and work collaboratively with families, support workers, and the ACS team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individual therapy plans.
- Provide interventions to improve mobility, daily living skills, and independence.
- Work with families, carers, and support workers to implement strategies.
- Support care planning with the coordination team.
- Recommend home modifications, assistive technology, and equipment.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
- Train support workers on therapy strategies.
- Ensure compliance with ACS policies and industry standards.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to culturally appropriate service delivery.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Occupational Therapy + current AHPRA registration.
- Experience in disability and/or aged care; understanding of NDIS and aged care systems.
- Ability to support clients with complex needs.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and home modifications.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse communities.
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel.
Desirable
- Experience with Arabic-speaking communities.
- Bilingual skills.
- Experience working in team-based environments.
