About the role
As a Fire Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of fire protection systems for a range of commercial and residential projects. This full-time position is based in our Crows Nest, NSW office and offers the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects that contribute to the safety and well-being of our clients and their communities.
What you'll be doing
- Designing fire protection systems, including fire sprinklers, fire alarms, and fire extinguishers, to meet relevant building codes and safety standards
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire protection systems into the overall building design
- Preparing detailed technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Conducting site inspections and coordinating with contractors to ensure the proper installation and commissioning of fire protection systems
- Staying up-to-date with the latest fire safety regulations, technologies, and industry best practices
What we're looking for
- Degree in Building Services Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fire protection system design, preferably within the building services industry
- Thorough understanding of fire safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards
- Proficiency in using design software, such as AutoCAD and fire protection design tools
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects concurrently
