Accounts Officer (9-Month Contract)

The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated Accounts Officer to join our Lonsdale office on a 9-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide critical finance support within a close-knit team. By taking ownership of both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), you will ensure healthy cash flow, timely processing, and positive relationships with our valued vendors and customers.
Key Responsibilities

Process supplier invoices, match purchase orders, and confidently prepare accurate monthly payment runs.
- Generate customer invoices and actively monitor payments, stepping in to follow up on overdue accounts and manage debt collection when necessary.
- Reconcile accounts, correctly allocate transactions to general ledgers and cost centres, and work with the broader team during month-end closing.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, integration errors, and finance queries from both internal staff and external partners.
- Monitor customer credit limits, and jump in to help with general office duties like answering phones.
About You

Prior experience in an Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or similar financial role (relevant accounting certifications are a bonus!).
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure absolute accuracy in invoicing, recording, and reconciliation.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate smoothly with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to handle high volumes and meet deadlines.
- A proactive team player with a high standard of ethics, confidentiality, and customer focus.
