TerryWhite Chemmart Keperra Compounding Pharmacy is looking for two exceptional Intern Pharmacists for 2027who want more from their intern year than simply completing the requirements for registration.
If you are ambitious, curious and genuinely enjoy helping people, we want to give you the opportunity to build the clinical, communication and leadership skills that will set the foundations for your career as a pharmacist.
At Keperra, you'll experience the best of traditional community pharmacy while gaining exposure to compounding, extended scope pharmacy practice and specialised pharmacy services — all within a supportive, experienced and progressive team.
Most importantly, you'll be working alongside pharmacists who want to teach you, challenge you and see you succeed.
Why Choose Keperra for Your Intern Year?
Your internship should be more than a year you need to complete.
It should be the year that builds the pharmacist you want to become.
Community & Clinical Pharmacy
You'll develop strong foundations in:
- Dispensing and medication management
- Patient counselling and clinical communication
- OTC and minor ailment management
- Vaccination services
- Professional services and primary healthcare
- Clinical interventions
- Medication safety and quality systems
- Working alongside extended scope pharmacists, giving you exposure to the expanding role of pharmacists in primary healthcare
Specialised Pharmacy Practice
You'll also gain practical exposure to areas that many interns may not encounter during a traditional community pharmacy internship, including:
- Compounding pharmacy
- Extended scope pharmacy practice
- Dose Administration Aids (DAA)
- Opioid Replacement Therapy Program (ORTP)
- Medication safety and quality improvement
- Specialised pharmacy workflows and clinical services
- Medicinal cannabis
You don't need previous experience in compounding, extended scope practice or medicinal cannabis.
We'll teach you.
We're looking for someone with the attitude, curiosity and professionalism to learn.
You'll work alongside experienced pharmacists, including extended scope pharmacists, allowing you to see firsthand how community pharmacy is evolving and how pharmacists can contribute more broadly to accessible primary healthcare.
A Structured Internship — Not Just a Roster
We don't want you spending your entire intern year doing the same thing every day.
Your internship will follow a rotating structure designed to progressively develop your capability.
Fortnight 1 — Community Pharmacy Immersion
Build your confidence and independence in:
- Dispensing
- Patient counselling
- Vaccinations
- OTC and primary healthcare
- Clinical services
- Professional communication
- Front-of-shop healthcare
- Learning alongside pharmacists practising at an extended scope
Fortnight 2 — Mixed Practice Rotation
Broaden your experience through exposure to:
- Community pharmacy
- Compounding
- DAA
- Specialised pharmacy operations
- Medication safety and quality systems
- Extended scope pharmacy practice
- Medicinal cannabis
These rotations repeat throughout the year, allowing you to progressively build your skills, confidence and independence rather than simply observing each area once.
Learn More Than Pharmacy
Being an excellent pharmacist requires more than clinical knowledge.
During your internship, you'll also gain exposure to:
- Pharmacy operations
- Teamwork and leadership
- Managing difficult and complex patient conversations
- Professional communication
- Quality improvement and risk management
- Mentoring pharmacy students and junior team members
- The business and operational side of successful community pharmacy
If you're interested in future management, leadership or pharmacy ownership, you'll have the opportunity to start developing those skills early in your career.
We Invest in Our Interns
We take professional development seriously.
As one of our interns, you'll have access to:
- TerryWhite Chemmart Intern Training Program

Your Development Package Includes:

Who Are We Looking For?
Qualifications matter, but attitude matters enormously.
We're looking for someone who:

- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Is curious and isn't afraid to ask questions
- Takes responsibility for their own learning
- Welcomes feedback and wants to improve
- Enjoys being part of a team
- Has an interest in contemporary and emerging areas of pharmacy practice
