Venues NSW is a commerically focused agency of the NSW Government, encompassing the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium as well as major sporting and cultural stadiums and precincts in Sydney, Olympic Park, Parramatta, Newcastle and Wollongong. The network of stadiums and entertainment centres host in excess of 5 million people a year at more than 500 events and is a key contributor to the economy.
Venues NSW takes an intergrated approach to our stadia and entertainment centres by developing partnerships with sporting codes, the entertainment and event industry, audiences, local businesses, NSW Government agencies and community groups. Our network throughout NSW allows us to combine internal resources and harness a vast employee skillset all of which helps us deliver key projects and secure outstanding content.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to support the delivery and continuous improvement of Venues NSW's Work Health and Safety framework. You will provide practical advice and support to stakeholders across the organisation, helping to embed a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
The role is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System, coordinating safety reporting and audit activities, managing safety documentation, monitoring incidents and corrective actions, and supporting contractor management and employee onboarding processes. You will also play an important role in providing frontline WHS guidance to business units and contributing to the ongoing development of safe and resilient workplaces across Venues NSW.
ABOUT YOU
You are a proactive and organised WHS professional with a strong understanding of workplace health and safety principles and practices. You have experience supporting safety management systems, compliance activities, incident management and stakeholder engagement, and are confident providing practical advice in a dynamic operational environment.
With strong communication and administrative skills, you can effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail. You are committed to continuous improvement, enjoy working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, and are passionate about contributing to a positive safety culture and safe workplace outcomes.
